There is no single answer, because limits are set by each lender rather than by us. What you can borrow depends on the asset or purpose, your business’s affordability, trading history, deposit, any security offered and the lender’s own policy. Different lenders on our panel apply very different thresholds.
In practice, affordability matters more than any published limit. A lender will look at what your accounts, bank statements and forecasts show you can service alongside existing commitments, and will lend within that, not up to a ceiling.
The asset itself also shapes the amount. Lenders take a view on what an asset would be worth if it had to be sold, and how quickly, so a widely traded item may support more borrowing than a highly specialised one of the same price.
Tell us the amount you have in mind and what it is for, and we will tell you honestly whether it looks achievable and which lenders are worth approaching. Approval is never guaranteed and the decision sits with the lender.
