Joinery is a trade where the machine decides what work you can quote for. An edge bander turns a shop that buys in doors into one that makes them; a beam saw turns a two-day cutting job into an afternoon. We fund woodworking machinery for joinery shops, furniture makers, shopfitters and timber merchants — new, used and dealer-refurbished, across a panel of 60+ lenders.

What you can fund

Panel & beam saws

Sliding table and vertical.

Edge banders

Manual through to automatic.

CNC routers & nesting

Flatbed and pod machines.

Moulders & planers

Spindle moulders and four-siders.

Sanders & finishing

Wide-belt and spray equipment.

Dust extraction

LEV systems, funded with the machine.

What we fund

Panel saws and beam saws, edge banders, spindle moulders, four-siders and thicknessers, wide-belt sanders, CNC routers and nesting machines, tenoners, mortisers, and the extraction that legally has to come with them. Whole-shop fit-outs as readily as a single machine.

Dust extraction is part of the machine, not an extra

Wood dust is a regulated substance and extraction is not optional — it is what makes the machine usable. Yet it routinely gets left off the funding because it is quoted separately, and the shop ends up finding several thousand pounds in cash for the LEV system after committing the rest. Put the extraction on the same quotation and it can usually be funded with the machine. It is the most common avoidable gap in this sector.

Used woodworking machinery

The used market here is unusually good. Well-built machines last decades, the UK has a dense network of established dealers carrying refurbished stock, and a rebuilt classic can outlast a new budget import. Second-hand woodworking machinery is fully fundable.

Dealers list used and second hand woodworking machinery for sale right across the UK, and if you need finance for woodworking machinery we can fund from one of those listings as readily as from a new quotation. What the lender wants is the same as anywhere: serial number, age, condition, and a clear title from whoever is selling. Buying from an established dealer makes this simple. Buying from a closing shop or at auction is fundable too, but the timescales are tight, so have the funding agreed in principle before you bid rather than after.

Refurbished, used, or a new budget machine

For the same money you can often have a properly rebuilt machine from a known maker or a new one from an unknown one. Neither answer is automatically right, but they fund differently — a machine with a recognised name and a serial number that means something to a valuer holds residual value, and that shows up in the terms available. Worth factoring in before you decide on price alone.

Growing the shop

Most of what we see in joinery is capacity bought against work already won — a contract that needs a bander, or a shopfitting job that needs a nesting router. That is the most straightforward funding case there is, because the repayment has an obvious source. If your workshop is full of machines you own outright, asset refinance can turn that into the deposit for the next one.

What to send us

The quotation including extraction and installation, whether the machine is new, used or refurbished, and where it is coming from. See the machinery finance hub for how the wider panel works, or forestry and sawmill kit if you are cutting your own timber. No credit check to ask.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get finance on used woodworking machinery?
Yes. The used market for woodworking machinery is strong, well-built machines last decades and the UK has an established dealer network carrying refurbished stock. Lenders want the serial number, age, condition and clear title from the seller. Dealer purchases are straightforward; auctions are fundable but need the finance agreed before you bid.
Can dust extraction be included in the finance?
Usually yes, provided it is on the same quotation as the machine. Extraction is frequently quoted separately and then left out of the funding, which leaves the shop paying several thousand pounds in cash for an LEV system it cannot legally run the machine without. Include it from the start.
Is a refurbished machine or a new budget machine the better buy?
It depends on the work, but they fund differently. A rebuilt machine from a recognised maker holds residual value that a valuer can put a number on, which tends to show in the terms available. A cheaper new machine from an unknown maker may not. Worth weighing alongside the purchase price rather than after it.
Can I fund a whole workshop rather than one machine?
Yes, and it is often better structured that way. A full fit-out can be funded as a single facility rather than several agreements, which is simpler to manage and usually cheaper. It also means the extraction, installation and power work get considered as part of the project rather than as afterthoughts.
How long can woodworking machinery be financed over?
Typically three to seven years depending on the machine and whether it is new or used. These are long-life assets that hold value, so lenders will generally spread them over a term that keeps the monthly cost in proportion to the work the machine brings in.
Do you cover my area?
