From a 3.5t box to a full HGV competition lorry — funded by a broker who has arranged them before and knows what they are actually worth.

Horsebox finance sits awkwardly between vehicle lending and equestrian specialism, which is why a lot of applications get priced badly or declined by lenders who do not understand the asset. We have arranged funding on horseboxes from the leading UK manufacturers, and we know which lenders value them properly rather than treating a coachbuilt box as a standard van. Whether you write it horsebox finance or horse box finance, and whether you are after hire purchase or a horsebox loan, we can place it.
The most popular size — new, used or bespoke build.
Competition lorries with living, for professional yards.
Funding secured early to hold a coachbuilder’s build slot.
Two-horse through to multi-horse and living trailers.
Private sale or dealer, with values assessed properly.
Commercial equestrian businesses and riding schools.
A horsebox is a coachbuilt conversion on a commercial chassis. The base vehicle depreciates like a van; the conversion behaves nothing like one. A well-built box from a respected maker holds its value remarkably well and can be worth more than the chassis suggests a decade later.
Lenders who price on the base vehicle alone get that wrong, and quote terms that make no sense. Lenders who understand the equestrian market price the finished article. Knowing which is which is most of the job.
The 3.5t box is the most common request, because it can be driven on a standard car licence by anyone who passed their test before 1997, or with the appropriate entitlement since. Payload is the perennial issue — a well-specified 3.5t box is close to its limit with two horses aboard, which is why build quality and weight matter as much as price.
Serious competition and professional yards move up to 7.5t or full HGV boxes with living accommodation. These are substantial assets, frequently six figures, and they are usually kept for many years — so longer terms are appropriate and generally available from the right lender.
We have arranged finance on boxes from the leading UK coachbuilders, including bespoke builds specified from scratch. A build slot often has to be secured with a deposit long before the box is finished, so funding needs to be lined up early rather than at handover. Tell us the build timeline and we will work to it.
Horse trailer finance covers everything from a standard two-horse trailer to larger multi-horse and living-accommodation trailers. Values are lower than a motorised box, so terms are shorter, but trailers hold value well and fund easily.
We fund both. A private owner is assessed on personal affordability; a commercial yard, competition rider, transporter or riding school is assessed as a business, which can open up better terms and different tax treatment. Say which applies and we will approach the right lenders.

As an independent broker we find the right structure and rate — not one lender’s products.
