A corporation tax loan spreads your CT600 liability across an agreed period rather than requiring it in a single payment. The tax reaches HMRC on time, you stay compliant, and the cost is smoothed over the months that follow.

Why corporation tax causes cash flow problems
Corporation tax is due nine months and one day after your accounting year end. By then the profit that generated it has usually been reinvested — in stock, equipment, hires or growth. The liability is real, the money has been put to work, and the deadline does not move.
Profitable, well-run companies hit this every year. It is a timing problem, not a solvency one.
How corporation tax funding works
The lender advances the amount of the liability, HMRC is paid in full and on time, and you repay over an agreed term — commonly six to twelve months, sometimes aligned so it clears before the next year’s liability falls due. Corporation tax finance is unsecured, so it is assessed on your accounts and trading rather than on an asset.
Can you pay corporation tax in instalments?
Directly with HMRC, only through a Time to Pay arrangement — which has to be requested, is granted at HMRC’s discretion, and is not guaranteed. Very large companies pay quarterly by law, but most SMEs face a single payment. A corporation tax loan is the route to instalments where HMRC has said no, or where the terms offered are too tight.
Try HMRC first
We would rather tell you this than have you find out later. HMRC Time to Pay has no arrangement fee, and if you qualify it is cheaper than borrowing. Ring them before you ring us. Come to us if they refuse, if the period they offer does not work, or if you would rather keep the arrangement off your compliance record.
What lenders look at
Filed accounts, current trading, the size of the liability relative to turnover, and your payment history with HMRC. An existing Time to Pay arrangement or a history of late filing makes this harder — not impossible, but harder, and we will say so before applying.
What it costs, honestly
More than asset finance, because nothing secures it. The cost is a percentage of the liability spread over the term. We will show you the total cost, not just a monthly figure, so you can weigh it against what the money is doing instead.

Estimate your repayments
Asset finance is quoted on a flat rate, so that is what the buttons show, with the equivalent APR beside it. Your exact rate depends on the asset, the term, the deposit and the lender.
Prime is an established, profitable business with clean credit. Specialist covers newer businesses and credit that needs explaining — the asset itself carries part of the risk, which is why finance is often available where an unsecured loan is not.
Representative example: on Hire Purchase, borrowing £25,000 over 48 months at a 5.15% flat rate (equivalent to 9.9% APR representative), you would repay around £628 a month; total amount repayable approximately £30,150, of which £5,150 is the cost of finance. This calculator is for illustration only — it is not a quote or an offer of finance, and the rate and repayments you are offered will depend on the asset, term, deposit and your circumstances. CW Asset Finance is a credit broker, not a lender, and will receive a commission from the lender that funds your agreement. All finance is subject to status, affordability and lender approval.
Rates shown are indicative flat rates with the equivalent APR alongside — the two are not the same number. Indicative only and does not constitute a quote or an offer of finance. Subject to status and lender approval.
