Across our lender panel, agreements generally run between 12 and 60 months. Where a particular facility sits in that range depends on what the money is for: a short-term cash-flow gap is funded over a short term, while an asset that will earn for years is funded over a term closer to its working life.
Matching the term to the purpose matters more than getting the longest one available. Stretching a short-term need over five years lowers the monthly payment but costs more in total. Compressing a long-term asset into twelve months protects the total cost but can strain the cash flow you were trying to relieve in the first place.
Ask for the term options when you get a quote. Seeing the monthly figure and the total cost side by side over two or three different terms usually makes the right choice obvious.
