Having a county court judgment does not automatically rule out business finance. Some funders will consider applications with judgments on file, particularly where the judgment is satisfied, historic, small relative to turnover, or has a clear explanation. Approval is never guaranteed and terms are likely to reflect the added risk.
Lenders will want the context: what the judgment was for, whether it has been paid, whether it is disputed, and whether it is an isolated event or part of a pattern. An unsatisfied judgment alongside recent missed payments is a much harder case than a single settled one.
Expect more evidence to be asked for, and be prepared for a deposit, additional security or a personal guarantee. The asset itself can help, because asset finance is secured against the equipment or vehicle being funded, which some lenders weigh alongside credit history.
CWAF has a panel of 60+ lenders, including funders who consider cases the high street declines, and we can usually give an indicative decision in as little as 24 hours. We cannot promise an approval, and we cannot remove or alter a judgment on your credit file — that is a matter for the court and the credit reference agencies. Only take on borrowing your business can afford to repay.
