Most identifiable business equipment with a resale value can be funded. That includes agricultural machinery, plant and construction equipment, commercial vehicles and HGVs, machine tools, catering and hospitality kit, IT hardware, specialist trade equipment, and leisure assets such as boats, caravans, lodges and motorhomes.
The common thread is that the asset can be identified, tracked and sold again. Something with a serial number, chassis number or registration is much easier to fund than something that is consumed, built permanently into a building, or impossible to trace. Assets that hold value well generally attract more lenders and longer terms than those that depreciate quickly.
Sector matters too. A funder that is comfortable with tractors may have no appetite for marine, and vice versa. Part of a broker’s job is knowing which of the 60+ lenders on our panel actually writes your asset class, so you are not applying blind and collecting declines.
Some assets we simply cannot place, and we will say so rather than string you along. Tell us what the item is and roughly what it costs, and we will give you an honest view before you commit time to an application. Approval always rests with the lender.
