Use our asset finance calculator for an initial indication. You enter the amount you want to fund and the term you have in mind, and it gives you an illustrative monthly figure. It is a planning tool only — it is not a quote, not an offer, and the actual cost depends entirely on the lender, the asset and your circumstances.
Real pricing is set once a lender has assessed the application. Your trading history, credit profile, the age and type of asset, the term, any deposit and the agreement type all move the figure. Two businesses buying the same machine can be offered noticeably different terms.
There are also costs a simple calculation will not show. Documentation or arrangement fees, an option-to-purchase fee at the end of a hire purchase agreement, and any VAT treatment specific to your deal all affect what you actually pay. Ask for the total payable, not just the monthly figure, when you compare offers.
The practical test is affordability across the whole term, not just the first payment. Model the quiet months as well as the busy ones, because the payment is due either way and the asset is at risk if you cannot maintain it.
