Business funding for high-value marques, where the lender matters as much as the product because mainstream funders stop at a certain ceiling.

Yes, and it is normally placed with specialist funders rather than volume lenders. A prestige car bought through a business is funded on hire purchase, finance lease or a balloon-backed structure, written in the company name. The underwriting is more searching than on a mainstream company car: funders want to see that the business genuinely supports a car at that value, not just that it can cover the payments this month. The point that catches people out is that the car itself is scrutinised as hard as the company — specification, provenance, service history and how quickly that exact model sells in the trade all feed into what a lender will advance.

Business asset finance is quoted on a flat rate, so that is what this shows — with the equivalent APR underneath, because the two are not the same number. A quick guide only; your actual rate depends on the asset, term, deposit and lender.
Representative example: on Hire Purchase, borrowing £25,000 over 48 months at a 6.0% flat rate (equivalent to 11.5% APR representative), you would repay around £646 a month; total amount repayable approximately £31,000, of which £6,000 is the cost of finance. This calculator is for illustration only — it is not a quote or an offer of finance, and the rate and repayments you are offered will depend on the asset, term, deposit and your circumstances. CW Asset Finance is a credit broker, not a lender, and may receive a commission from the lender that funds your agreement. All finance is subject to status, affordability and lender approval. CW Asset Finance is an Appointed Representative of Rural Finance Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 630701).
Prestige lending is a different desk entirely. Funders start with the company’s ability to carry the facility — filed accounts, net worth, drawings and whether profits are real or one-off. A high-value car against a business with modest retained earnings gets declined regardless of how good the month looks. Then the asset: depreciation on prestige models is steep in the early years and highly spec-dependent, so a well-specified, popular-colour car from a recognised dealer supports a stronger advance than an unusual build. Provenance, full main dealer history and no outstanding finance are checked carefully. Limited company purchases are common and preferred, because the funder can look at the balance sheet; a sole trader buying the same car is assessed personally and usually gets a tighter structure. Declines come from mismatched affordability and from cars with cloudy history.

Established owner-managed businesses with strong retained profit — property, professional services, construction principals, successful trades — buying at a level mainstream lenders will not reach. The trigger is usually a good year, a specific car becoming available, or an existing agreement maturing on a car they want to replace upward. Often bought from a specialist dealer or main dealer approved scheme rather than a volume forecourt.

Cars are treated differently from commercial vehicles. A van generally qualifies for the annual investment allowance; a car generally does not, and instead attracts writing-down allowances tied to its CO2 emissions, with fully electric cars in the most favourable position. A car made available for private use also creates a benefit in kind for the driver. The rules change between budgets and your position depends on how you trade, so treat this as the direction of travel and get your accountant to confirm the detail before you commit.
It can, but the business has to genuinely support it. Funders look at retained profit and net worth rather than one strong trading month, and they will ask what business use the car has. Specialist prestige lenders are used to these cases; mainstream volume funders generally are not, which is why placement matters more here than anywhere else.
They typically want a meaningful contribution, and how much depends on the car, the company and the structure. We will not publish a figure because it genuinely varies case by case. What we can tell you is that a stronger contribution widens the pool of funders willing to look and usually improves the overall structure.
Yes, and often more than people expect. Cars do not get the annual investment allowance a van does, they get writing-down allowances tied to emissions, and most prestige petrol models sit in the least favourable band. The benefit in kind on a high-list-price car is also significant. Your accountant should model this before you order.
Sometimes, but it narrows the lender list considerably. Funders want a UK V5, a clear import history and a valuation they can rely on. Grey imports and cars with incomplete UK documentation are frequently declined. If the car is an import, tell us at the outset so we go to the right funders first rather than collecting refusals.
Expect filed accounts and often management figures, recent business bank statements, details of the car including VIN and specification, the dealer invoice, and information about the directors. On higher-value cases funders may also ask about source of the deposit. Having these ready before we submit shortens the process noticeably.
