Fund the vehicle that carries the arisings, from a 3.5 tonne arb tipper to a 7.5 tonne chipper truck with a purpose-built body.

Yes, and chip trucks are funded every week, but they are assessed as commercial vehicles rather than as arb machinery, which changes things. The chassis has a V5 and a registration, so funders can verify ownership and check for outstanding finance in a way they cannot with a chipper. Used trucks are fundable, with mileage and MOT history carrying the weight. The catch is the body: a chassis-cab bought from one supplier and bodied by another arrives as two invoices, and funders need the vehicle invoiced complete, or the body ends up outside the agreement and unpaid for.
Used kit: Yes — used chip trucks are funded routinely, though funders apply age and mileage limits more firmly to vehicles than to machinery.

Business asset finance is quoted on a flat rate, so that is what this shows — with the equivalent APR underneath, because the two are not the same number. A quick guide only; your actual rate depends on the asset, term, deposit and lender.
Representative example: on Hire Purchase, borrowing £25,000 over 48 months at a 6.0% flat rate (equivalent to 11.5% APR representative), you would repay around £646 a month; total amount repayable approximately £31,000, of which £6,000 is the cost of finance. This calculator is for illustration only — it is not a quote or an offer of finance, and the rate and repayments you are offered will depend on the asset, term, deposit and your circumstances. CW Asset Finance is a credit broker, not a lender, and may receive a commission from the lender that funds your agreement. All finance is subject to status, affordability and lender approval. CW Asset Finance is an Appointed Representative of Rural Finance Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 630701).
Commercial vehicle funders handle these, and their comfort comes from the registration document, the service and MOT record and a very deep resale market for light commercials. That makes them easier to place than most arb kit. What they scrutinise is whether the vehicle is bought complete. Arb bodies, tipping gear, toolboxes and chip cages must be on the supply invoice to be funded; retro-fitted later they are generally not recoverable and not fundable. Seasonality matters too, because arb income swings with weather and storm work, and a truck payment runs every month regardless. Age caps apply on used vehicles at some funders, and high-mileage ex-fleet trucks attract closer questions. Declines usually stem from a chassis with unclear title, from mileage that does not match the record, or from the body being an afterthought.
Examples of the machines we are asked to fund. This is not an exhaustive list — if what you are buying is not here, it does not mean we cannot fund it. Your supplier quote is what the agreement is written against.

Tree surgery firms whose tipping van has run out of payload, and crews running two teams from one truck. The trigger is nearly always the arisings: a 3.5 tonne tipper fills up before lunch on a big reduction and the day becomes two tip runs instead of one. Firms winning utility or local authority vegetation work buy 7.5 tonne trucks because the contract volumes make anything smaller uneconomic.

Bought on hire purchase, business plant and machinery normally qualifies for capital allowances on the full cost even though you pay for it monthly, which is a large part of why hire purchase is the common structure. On a finance lease you generally set the rentals against profit instead. The rules change between budgets and your position depends on how you trade, so treat this as the direction of travel and get your accountant to confirm the detail before you commit.
It can be included, but only if the vehicle is invoiced as a complete unit. If the chassis-cab comes from a dealer and the body is fitted afterwards by a separate firm, you end up with two invoices and the body usually falls outside the agreement. Ask the supplier to invoice the finished vehicle, body and all.
That depends on how it is used, and it is a question for a transport lawyer or the traffic commissioner rather than a funder. Some arboricultural use falls within exemptions and some does not. Funders will not ask, but running a truck without the right licensing is an enforcement problem waiting to happen, so get it checked before you order.
Slightly, because the advance is smaller and the resale market is enormous. A 7.5 tonne truck with a purpose-built arb body is a more specialist proposition, so the funder looks harder at the business behind it. Both are fundable; the smaller vehicle just clears the bar with less supporting information.
Yes, and a VAT-registered dealer purchase is the simplest route there is. The funder will want the registration number, the mileage, the V5 details and the invoice. They will run a check for outstanding finance and for write-off markers, which is precisely why buying from a dealer with a documented history goes through smoothly.
The payments continue. A finance agreement is not linked to whether the vehicle is earning, which is why funders ask about your ability to carry payments through quiet or difficult periods. Tree work already has weather-driven gaps, so most established firms plan for a month of downtime rather than assuming none.
