Can you finance a vehicle spray booth?
Yes, though a spray booth sits closer to the building than most equipment and that shapes everything. The booth is funded as a hard asset on hire purchase, but once it is erected inside a unit with a gas supply, a flue through the roof and often a sunken filtered floor, it is arguably part of the premises. Funders therefore usually require a landlord waiver on a leased site. Used booths are fundable. Installation, ducting, gas connection and groundwork are building costs outside the agreement.
Used kit: Yes — used booths are fundable and units ten to fifteen years old are considered, though burner condition and current filtration standards carry most weight.

What would a vehicle spray booth cost per month?
Asset finance is quoted on a flat rate, so that is what the buttons show, with the equivalent APR beside it. Your exact rate depends on the asset, the term, the deposit and the lender.
Prime is an established, profitable business with clean credit. Specialist covers newer businesses and credit that needs explaining — the asset itself carries part of the risk, which is why finance is often available where an unsecured loan is not.
Representative example: on Hire Purchase, borrowing £25,000 over 48 months at a 5.15% flat rate (equivalent to 9.9% APR representative), you would repay around £628 a month; total amount repayable approximately £30,150, of which £5,150 is the cost of finance. This calculator is for illustration only — it is not a quote or an offer of finance, and the rate and repayments you are offered will depend on the asset, term, deposit and your circumstances. CW Asset Finance is a credit broker, not a lender, and will receive a commission from the lender that funds your agreement. All finance is subject to status, affordability and lender approval.
Rates shown are indicative flat rates with the equivalent APR alongside — the two are not the same number. Indicative only and does not constitute a quote or an offer of finance. Subject to status and lender approval.
How lenders treat it
Funders like the sector and the asset, but the fixtures issue dominates. A booth is a structure: panels erected on site, ducting through the roof, a gas burner connected to a fixed supply and often a pit or ramped floor. On a rented unit expect a landlord waiver to be a condition, and expect it to take longer than the credit decision. The booth itself is hard security with a specialist used market, though dismantling and re-erecting costs reduce recovery value. Filters, paint, thinners and masking are consumables. Installation labour, gas connection, flue work and extraction ducting are services and construction, and sit outside. Declines cluster around short leases and premises without an adequate gas or power supply.

Who buys one
Typically an established bodyshop that has been subcontracting paint and losing control of cycle time and colour match, or replacing a twenty year old booth whose burner and filtration no longer meet requirements. Also commercial vehicle and plant painters needing a bay large enough for a truck body, and restoration specialists wanting a controlled environment for long jobs.

How it is treated for tax
Bought on hire purchase, business plant and machinery normally qualifies for capital allowances on the full cost even though you pay for it monthly, which is a large part of why hire purchase is the common structure. On a finance lease you generally set the rentals against profit instead. The rules change between budgets and your position depends on how you trade, so treat this as the direction of travel and get your accountant to confirm the detail before you commit.
Vehicle spray booth finance questions
Will the installation be included in the finance?
Generally not. Erecting the booth, connecting gas, running the flue and building the floor are construction and labour costs with nothing to secure. Some funders will carry a portion of installation within a strong overall deal, but never plan on it. Get an installed price from the supplier.
Why does a landlord waiver come up so often with booths?
Because a booth is effectively a building inside a building. Once it is erected and connected, it can be argued to have become part of the premises. The waiver confirms the booth remains the property of the funder. Start that conversation with your landlord as soon as you decide to buy.
Can a paint mixing scheme be funded alongside?
The mixing bank and scales are equipment and can sit on the same agreement. The paint itself, tinters and consumables cannot. Many schemes are supplied on loan by the paint manufacturer, so check who actually owns the bank before including it on a quotation.
Is a used booth a sensible buy?
It can be, and funders will consider one. The cost that catches people out is not the booth but taking it down, moving it and putting it back up, which is a substantial service bill outside the finance. Get that quoted before you agree a price for the booth.
Do I need a particular gas or power supply?
Almost certainly, and it should be checked before ordering. Booth burners need a gas supply of adequate capacity and the fans need three phase power. Upgrading either runs on the network operator timetable, not yours, and is the most frequent cause of a delayed installation.
