Tail lifts, ramps and tracking — funded by lenders who understand that a converted vehicle is not a standard one.

A wheelchair accessible minibus is a converted vehicle, and that single fact changes how it should be funded. The conversion adds substantial cost, narrows the resale market and alters the payload, which is why lenders pricing it as a standard minibus get it wrong. We work with lenders who understand accessible vehicles.
For heavier powered wheelchairs.
Lighter, simpler and lower cost.
Multi-chair configurations with tracking.
PTS and non-emergency transport vehicles.
Care homes, day centres and charities.
Fund the balance, timed to the grant.
A tail lift, ramp and floor tracking can add a five-figure sum to a minibus. That cost is real but it does not translate proportionally into resale value, because the pool of buyers for an accessible vehicle is smaller than for a standard one. Lenders who price on standard residuals either decline it or quote a term that makes no sense.
Lenders who understand the accessible market price the finished vehicle and recognise that demand from care providers, community transport and local authorities is steady.
A tail lift handles heavier powered chairs and is easier for a single member of staff to operate, but costs more, needs servicing and reduces luggage space. A ramp is simpler, cheaper and lighter, but requires more assistance and a suitable gradient. The right choice depends on who you carry, not on price.
Conversion equipment is heavy. Add a tail lift, tracking and restraints, then load wheelchairs and passengers, and a vehicle can approach its weight limit faster than expected. Specify with payload in mind, particularly if you plan to carry multiple chairs.
Care and nursing homes, community transport groups, day centres, charities, local authorities, patient transport operators and schools carrying pupils with additional needs. Several of these have restricted budgets or grant funding, both of which can be built into the structure.
Where a grant covers part of the cost, the balance can usually be funded, with repayments timed around when the grant lands. Tell us what is already committed and we will work around it.
