Clean, clear glassware sells more drinks than any promotion, and the machine that delivers it is the hardest-working box behind any bar.

Yes, though a single glasswasher is often small enough to sit below a funder’s minimum, so it is usually funded alongside other bar or kitchen equipment. Hire purchase is the normal structure and used machines from dealers are fundable. The point worth raising is the brewery offer: glasswashers are frequently supplied free on loan as part of a supply agreement. That is genuinely convenient, but it ties your buying, and licensees who want to buy freely are better served owning the machine outright and funding it.
Used kit: Yes, and refurbished glasswashers are common, though the modest values involved mean many operators simply buy used outright and reserve finance for the larger items.

Business asset finance is quoted on a flat rate, so that is what this shows — with the equivalent APR underneath, because the two are not the same number. A quick guide only; your actual rate depends on the asset, term, deposit and lender.
Representative example: on Hire Purchase, borrowing £25,000 over 48 months at a 6.0% flat rate (equivalent to 11.5% APR representative), you would repay around £646 a month; total amount repayable approximately £31,000, of which £6,000 is the cost of finance. This calculator is for illustration only — it is not a quote or an offer of finance, and the rate and repayments you are offered will depend on the asset, term, deposit and your circumstances. CW Asset Finance is a credit broker, not a lender, and may receive a commission from the lender that funds your agreement. All finance is subject to status, affordability and lender approval. CW Asset Finance is an Appointed Representative of Rural Finance Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 630701).
Glasswashers are acceptable but unremarkable security. Classeq, Winterhalter and Maidaid are recognised, machines are serial numbered, and there is a used trade, but individual values are low and once collection is paid for there is little left, so the funder is looking at your figures rather than the machine. Licensed trade underwriting is conservative: expect scrutiny of filed accounts, whether the premises are tied or free, how long the licensee has traded, and personal guarantees on smaller or newer businesses. The realistic route for a single machine is to include it on a wider schedule — with the cellar cooling, the back bar or the kitchen order — so the facility is worth writing and the mix of assets is stronger.
Examples of the machines we are asked to fund. This is not an exhaustive list — if what you are buying is not here, it does not mean we cannot fund it. Your supplier quote is what the agreement is written against.

Free houses and independent bars who buy their own drinks and want their own equipment, clubs and late venues running two or three machines behind a long bar, and restaurants with enough wine service that glass quality matters. The trigger is usually a machine that has started leaving film or lipstick on glassware, or a licensee coming out of a tie and discovering the loaned machine goes back with it.

Bought on hire purchase, business plant and machinery normally qualifies for capital allowances on the full cost even though you pay for it monthly, which is a large part of why hire purchase is the common structure. On a finance lease you generally set the rentals against profit instead. The rules change between budgets and your position depends on how you trade, so treat this as the direction of travel and get your accountant to confirm the detail before you commit.
It depends what the supply agreement costs you. Free equipment is paid for through the price you agree per keg or case, and across the life of the tie that can be a great deal more than the machine. If you value buying freely, owning your own machine and funding it keeps your options open.
Yes, and multiple machines on one schedule solve the minimum-facility problem neatly. A long bar with machines at each station is a normal request, and listing them together gives the funder a facility worth writing. Include the water softeners on the same invoice and the whole bar warewash package funds as one agreement.
In most of the UK, yes, if you want glasses to come out clear rather than clouded. Integral softeners are built into some machines and external units are supplied alongside. Either way, where it is on the same invoice as the machine it can go on the same agreement, which is the simplest way to handle it.
Similar treatment and similar limits. Bottle coolers are portable, branded and resaleable, so they are acceptable assets, but individually they are low value. The practical answer is the same as for glasswashers: put the whole back bar package — coolers, glasswashers, ice machine — on one schedule rather than chasing separate agreements.
It can be done but it is underwritten on the licensee rather than the pub. Without filed accounts expect a personal guarantee and questions about previous experience in the trade. Funding a full opening package rather than a single machine gives the underwriter more to work with and is often the more successful approach.
