Can you finance a hydraFacial machine?

Yes. Branded facial devices are financed regularly, usually on hire purchase through funders who are comfortable with aesthetic equipment. As an asset the machine sits in the middle of the range: it is identifiable by serial number and has some resale value through the dealer network, but far less than a laser platform. Used units are fundable where an authorised supplier provides them. The point owners miss is the consumable side — tip and serum contracts are a separate ongoing commitment that the finance agreement does not cover, and funders will factor that outgoing into affordability.

Used kit: Yes, though more cautiously than for lasers — funders want an authorised supplier, a serial number and confirmation the device is still supported.

What would a hydraFacial machine cost per month?

Business asset finance is quoted on a flat rate, so that is what this shows — with the equivalent APR underneath, because the two are not the same number. A quick guide only; your actual rate depends on the asset, term, deposit and lender.

Representative example: on Hire Purchase, borrowing £25,000 over 48 months at a 6.0% flat rate (equivalent to 11.5% APR representative), you would repay around £646 a month; total amount repayable approximately £31,000, of which £6,000 is the cost of finance. This calculator is for illustration only — it is not a quote or an offer of finance, and the rate and repayments you are offered will depend on the asset, term, deposit and your circumstances. How lenders treat it

Facial systems illustrate a wider truth about the beauty sector: brand recognition is not the same as security. The device carries a serial number and a dealer network, which helps, but the market for a used unit is narrow and resale values soften quickly as new generations launch. Funders therefore underwrite the clinic. What is distinctive here is the consumable relationship — the ongoing purchase of tips and solutions is a real monthly cost that sits outside the finance agreement, and a sensible underwriter will look at whether the business can carry both. Where the quotation bundles a device with a year of consumables and marketing support, expect the funder to separate the hardware from the rest, because only the hardware could ever be recovered.

Who buys one

Typically a salon or medispa adding a signature treatment to lift average spend per client, or a clinic replacing a first-generation device with a current model. Practitioners leaving a larger clinic to open their own room are the other common case, often buying a device and a couch together as their first major equipment purchase. Hotel spas and medispas broadening a treatment menu ahead of a busy season are another steady source.

How it is treated for tax

Bought on hire purchase, business plant and machinery normally qualifies for capital allowances on the full cost even though you pay for it monthly, which is a large part of why hire purchase is the common structure. On a finance lease you generally set the rentals against profit instead. The rules change between budgets and your position depends on how you trade, so treat this as the direction of travel and get your accountant to confirm the detail before you commit.

HydraFacial machine finance questions

Can the consumables go on the finance agreement?

Generally not. Consumables are used up and cannot be recovered, so funders treat them as trading costs rather than assets. Some suppliers offer their own arrangements for consumable supply. Keep the two commitments separate in your planning, because both hit the same monthly cash flow.

Does the brand of the machine affect approval?

Indirectly. A well-known platform with a UK distributor and service network is easier for a funder to value and, if necessary, to move on. An obscure imported device with no local support is harder to place regardless of what it cost. That is about resale route, not about the quality of the treatment.

What if I upgrade before the agreement finishes?

You would need to settle the existing agreement, and suppliers often help structure a trade-in that contributes towards it. Ask for the settlement position before committing to an upgrade, because the outstanding balance early in a term can be more than the trade-in value of the old device.

Will the funder want to see my treatment prices?

Not usually in detail, but underwriters do look at whether the projected income supports the commitment. For a new treatment line, a simple note on expected treatment volumes and the revenue per session can help an underwriter understand the case, particularly where the business is newer.

Can a mobile therapist finance a facial device?

It is difficult. Without fixed premises a funder has no location for the asset and limited recovery prospects, and mobile operators often have modest filed figures. Some smaller agreements are possible with strong personal credit, but expect a narrower choice and more questions than a clinic with a lease would face.
