We sponsor Pateley Bridge Mart
Pateley Bridge sits at the head of Nidderdale, and the mart serves the hill and upland farms around it — a different farming economy from the arable Vale of York an hour away, and one with different finance needs.

Why this farming shapes the finance
Upland livestock farming runs on a narrower margin and a more seasonal income than lowland arable, and that changes what a sensible agreement looks like. A payment profile matched to when stock is sold is worth more to a hill farm than the lowest headline monthly figure, and a lender who understands why a quad bike, a stock trailer or a compact tractor is a working necessity rather than a discretionary purchase is worth more again.
Nidderdale is also an AONB, so a good deal of the land around the mart is farmed under environmental and stewardship arrangements. That tends to mean smaller, lighter machinery and more diversification — holiday lets, farm shops, contracting — which brings assets onto the farm that a purely agricultural lender will not always fund.
What we typically fund around here
We are an independent broker based in Tadcaster with access to a panel of more than sixty lenders, including the agricultural funders who understand seasonal income and the ones who will write a private sale. No rate is quoted on this page: it depends on the asset, the business and the lender, and a figure published here would be a figure somebody expects to be offered.
We sponsor this mart. It does not recommend us and we are not connected to it beyond the sponsorship. CW Asset Finance is a credit broker, not a lender. All finance is subject to status and lender approval.
Work out what an asset would cost you
Asset finance is quoted on a flat rate, so that is what the buttons show, with the equivalent APR beside it. Your exact rate depends on the asset, the term, the deposit and the lender.
Prime is an established, profitable business with clean credit. Specialist covers newer businesses and credit that needs explaining — the asset itself carries part of the risk, which is why finance is often available where an unsecured loan is not.
Representative example: on Hire Purchase, borrowing £25,000 over 48 months at a 5.15% flat rate (equivalent to 9.9% APR representative), you would repay around £628 a month; total amount repayable approximately £30,150, of which £5,150 is the cost of finance. This calculator is for illustration only — it is not a quote or an offer of finance, and the rate and repayments you are offered will depend on the asset, term, deposit and your circumstances. CW Asset Finance is a credit broker, not a lender, and will receive a commission from the lender that funds your agreement. All finance is subject to status, affordability and lender approval.
Rates shown are indicative flat rates with the equivalent APR alongside — the two are not the same number. Indicative only and does not constitute a quote or an offer of finance. Subject to status and lender approval.

Specialist agricultural funding
Machinery, livestock and land — each with its own page, because each is assessed differently.
By matching the repayment profile to when the money actually arrives. Farm income tends to land in spikes — post-harvest and subsidy payments — rather than evenly across the year, so a flat monthly Hire Purchase agreement can strain cash flow in the off-months. CW Asset Finance structures seasonal HP agreements with reduced payments through winter and larger payments timed to harvest income, so you get the machinery without tying up working capital reserved for fertiliser, diesel and wages.
Machines we fund
430 machines named across 43 types of Agricultural & farm machinery. This is not a restricted list — it is what we are asked for most often. If the machine you are buying is not here it almost certainly still funds: your supplier quote is what the agreement is written against.
